Winning Images

Winning images are photo galleries of competition winners. These competition results are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of our members and their desire to improve their photography skills. There are four types of competitions held throughout the year:

Monthly Competitions – This is where members have an opportunity to enter up to 9 entries (up to 3 color prints, 3 black and white prints, and 3 digital entries). Photos in these three categories are judged and critiqued by a professional photographer. The best images will be awarded ribbons (20% ribbon awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and honorable mention for each category).

Salon Competition – In participation with Atlanta Celebrates Photography during the month of October, we hold a month long exhibit that is also judged by three professional photographers. This exhibit is open to the public and photos are also available for purchase if a member chooses to sell their print.

Assignment Zone Competition (digital only) – This is an annual competition of photos submitted by members that were taken during any one of the annual field trips from the current year.

Masters Competition – A collection of all ribbon-winning images from monthly competitions throughout the year are entered into the November master competition on behalf of the winners. The master competition is the only competition where no critique will take place, but every member present will score each image. The scores will be tabulated after the competition and “Best of the Year” ribbons will be presented to the winners at our annual holiday party in December.
